The research team of Professor Wu Yongzhen and Professor Zhu Weihong of East China University of Science and Technology has made new progress in the preparation of large-area hole extraction layer for perovskite batteries. Relevant research results were recently published in Advanced Functional Materials.

Perovskite solar cells are one of the frontier and hot topics in the field of energy research at present. The maximum photoelectric conversion efficiency of small area devices in its laboratory has reached 25.2%. In order to realize commercial application, the stability and large-area production of perovskite batteries should also be solved.

To this end, researchers from East China University of Science and Technology innovatively put forward the molecular-anchored co-assembly strategy (ACA), designed and synthesized the hole transport molecule (HTM) TPA-PT-C6 containing adsorption groups and the hydrophilic ammonium salt CA-Br, and co-assembled them on the ITO electrode to prepare the hole transport monolayer with high wetting uniformity. The introduction of CA-Br can not only adjust the surface energy of the hole extraction layer, increase the wettability of the perovskite precursor, improve the morphology and quality of the perovskite film, but also effectively passivate the cationic vacancy defects at the interface. The p-i-n type large-area perovskite cell (1.02cm2) and module cell (36cm2) based on the hole transport layer obtained 17.49% and 12.67% photoelectric conversion efficiency, respectively.(Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment)

It is reported that the research was completed by Li Erpeng, a doctoral candidate of East China University of Technology, under the guidance of Professor Wu Yongzhen and Professor Zhu Weihong. At the same time, Professor Han Liyuan's team from Shanghai Jiaotong University has provided assistance in the production of module batteries. The research was carefully guided by Tian He, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and supported by projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation, Shanghai Major Science and Technology Projects, Shanghai International Cooperation in Science and Technology, and Shanghai University Distinguished Professor (Oriental Scholar).
